Spring Organizing – 6 Tips for Getting A Jump on Your Craft Space

Spring is the perfect time to tackle that cluttered craft space and get organized. As the weather warms up and the flowers begin to bloom, it’s time to take a fresh look at your crafting area and get it in tip-top shape for the upcoming season. In this post, we’ll share some tips and tricks for spring cleaning and organizing your craft space, specifically for those who are making wreaths and floral arrangements, and provide some advice on how to organize and store ribbons.

Step 1: Declutter and Clean

The first step to getting your craft space organized is to declutter and clean. Start by going through all of your supplies and getting rid of anything that is old or no longer needed. Donate or sell items that you no longer use or have duplicates of. Next, clean your space by wiping down surfaces and dusting any shelves or storage units.

Step 2: Categorize Your Supplies

Once you’ve decluttered and cleaned your space, it’s time to categorize your supplies. Group items together based on their purpose or function, such as floral wire, glue, and ribbon. This will make it easier to find what you need when you’re working on a project.

Step 3: Invest in Storage Solutions

Investing in storage solutions can make a huge difference in the organization of your craft space. Consider purchasing clear plastic bins or drawers to store your supplies. This will allow you to see what’s inside without having to open each bin. Label each bin or drawer to make it easy to find what you need.

Step 4: Organize and Store Ribbons

Organizing and storing ribbons can be a challenge, but there are some simple solutions that can help. Consider using a ribbon dispenser or a dowel rod to keep your ribbons organized and easy to access. Another option is to use a ribbon storage box with compartments to keep your ribbons separate and tangle-free.

Step 5: Utilize Wall Space

Don’t forget about the wall space in your craft area. Installing shelving or a pegboard can provide additional storage for your supplies and keep them off your workspace. You can also hang small baskets or containers on the wall to store smaller items such as beads or buttons.

Step 6: Make It Pretty

Finally, make your craft space pretty! Add some decorative elements such as a framed inspirational quote or a vase of fresh flowers to make the space inviting and inspiring.

In addition to these tips, there are some specific organization and storage considerations for those who are making wreaths and floral arrangements.

Here are a few additional tips:

  • Store floral wire in a canister or bin to keep it from getting tangled.
  • Keep floral foam in a plastic bag to prevent it from drying out.
  • Use a wreath storage container to keep your wreaths protected and dust-free when not in use.

By following these tips, you’ll be able to create a craft space that is organized, functional, and inspiring. With everything in its place, you’ll be able to focus on what really matters – creating beautiful wreaths and floral arrangements to welcome the spring season.

Any encouragement on organizing is what I need. I’ve gotten some containers, but will up my purchase. Also tried to put away holiday product together since January. I enjoy your video so much, you’re so calm and detailed. Thank you so much, Deborah
